[00:00:01] Speaker A: He was born on a Saturday in 73 he loves punk rock music fighting the 13 cabin in the dazzle Jazz on the beat Guitar with the short.
[00:00:12] Speaker B: With radio back.
[00:00:15] Speaker A: His motherfucking envy scrolling look at motherfucker cuz here he comes Andy Sculling wearing his orange hat.
[00:00:27] Speaker C: Start rolling.
Welcome to unsigned 518.
We are, we are here today for a special episode. Well I'll tell you what we're laughing about later but we're here to talk about AP Live festival. So gentlemen, why don't you introduce yourselves to the audience while I catch my breath.
[00:00:47] Speaker A: So my name is Wolfgang.
[00:00:49] Speaker D: I'm Louie.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: We are the organizers of AP Live Music and arts festival over in Natal Park.
This is our third year organizing the event.
[00:00:58] Speaker D: It's an all day music and arts festival that we started three years ago and it focuses on highlighting local music and vendors and artists and bringing everyone in the community together for a day in the park.
[00:01:14] Speaker C: And we were just laughing about my Dan Flash's shirt. Anybody who knows about. I think you should leave. They mentioned I think you should leave and I was like oh, I've got my shirt right here. So if going to let one of you dudes wear it in the picture. So if you're listening and you're like what the are they even talking about.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Such a look at the picture.
[00:01:33] Speaker C: It's very complicated and that's bargain for 300 bucks. It was actually a steal. Yeah, they have shirts.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: It's a horrible shirt.
[00:01:45] Speaker C: I spent my. I spent my per diem. I spent my whole.
[00:01:50] Speaker A: And if you, if you, if you walk past a store and you see a bunch of guys that look exactly like you, you go in.
[00:01:55] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:56] Speaker A: Yes, you do.
[00:01:56] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: All right. You do.
[00:01:58] Speaker C: All right, all right, we'll get it, we'll get out.
[00:02:00] Speaker A: Out of the.
[00:02:01] Speaker C: The niche inside jokes because I'm not going to get through the episode if we do.
But so yeah, third year we. You were here last year for year two and we talked all about it and I guess just like with anything, you know, any festival, like any event, you know, you probably always try to outdo the previous year or to expand or grow. So I guess let's tell us what's going on this year, right?
[00:02:30] Speaker A: So just like last year it's a fundraiser. We do it this year we're doing it with the Nopiates Committee which is a non for profit over a Naval park local organization focuses on raising addiction awareness in the area.
The opioid epidemic was such like a huge problem and still is like a Very real thing, not only just in our area, but just in the surrounding upstate New York. And it was founded and is run by this family, Tim and Kim Murdick. Great people. And they each year, in collaboration with this artist residency over in Naval park called Arts Letters and Numbers, they put on a transformation project, they call it, which is meant to foster a connection with members of the community who want to tell her a story of addiction and use art and creative expression to connect with the community and tell their story and heal and go through the addiction process.
And their whole message and motive of, you know, connecting people with the arts is like all what we're all about. So it's like a perfect marriage with this event.
And they have done so much to help us, not only just like, put everything together, but also just, you know, kind of ground us a little bit. They've been doing these kind of things for a long time, and, you know, we kind of get in our own heads and like, oh, we could do.
[00:03:55] Speaker D: This and this and this.
[00:03:55] Speaker A: And it's like you kind of focus your energy a little bit more. You pick a few things that you really want to accomplish year by year.
And again, we're not professionals, but having done it for two years, we can kind of see how we can improve each year. This year, I think the big thing was trying to get more people there from different communities in the greater capital region.
Like, we always joke, like, Averell park is the middle of nowhere, but not really. You're 20 minutes from Albany, you're 25 from Troy.
And they have, like, there's a budding music scene and an art scene in those areas that we want to appreciate and be a part of.
[00:04:42] Speaker C: And I mean, certainly anybody in, you know, park that's. That's in a band, I mean, oh, yeah, they're going to be playing in Troy. They're gonna be playing in Albany. You know what I mean? So they're absolutely a part of the scene.
[00:04:55] Speaker A: There's. There's people that like, you know, you act like, you know, you go over the Hudson River. They treat it like you're going to different countries so far away. It's really not, you know, we're one big community and you really want to.
You want to get people together in one place, even if it's, you know, a 20 minute drive to support these artists and all the businesses and organizations we're working with.
And that's the other thing. It's like, it's nice to have a year or two under our belt where we can kind of we have a little bit of material stocked up of what we've done in the past and it's like a more of a proven.
[00:05:28] Speaker C: Thing and it could also be like a really good conduit for like introducing maybe some of the local folks in Avro park to the scene that's only 20 minutes away from them. Yeah, you know, like they get all these great bands that they can walk to the, you know, walk and see and be. Wow, there's all these great bands. Introduce them and. And maybe you know, have a long term effect of bringing ever park down to Troy more and you know, like you said, connecting the place. So there's just one big community because it's so close. I mean it's really just like when you get out of Troy, it's like you five or six minutes of like driving through residential areas and then you're in Aberma. You know what I mean?
[00:06:10] Speaker A: It's like, it's not that far and it's like.
And again, we were really happy with how everything went last year, but we did it.
Was it noon to 12 to 10?
[00:06:23] Speaker D: It was 10 hours.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: And when you have it for that long, you kind of get like the inverse effect of like people aren't staying that long.
[00:06:29] Speaker C: Right, right.
[00:06:29] Speaker A: They'll go to see the band they know or something that catches their eye and then they'll. Maybe they'll stay for another set and then they'll leave because they're not gonna be at the park for 10 hours this year. We're doing it two to nine. Cut it down a little bit.
[00:06:40] Speaker D: Instead of, I think last year we had about 13 or 14 acts throughout the day.
It's eight this year, so.
[00:06:48] Speaker C: And so is that something? You know, obviously doing it every year you're gonna, you know, not mistakes, but there's gonna be steps that you're gonna be like, well, maybe is that one of the things that you made a conscious be like, hey, that's. It's too much.
[00:07:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And just like trying to find things for people to do in the park because again, somebody might know one of the bands on the bill and go see them, but we want them to stick around for the next band. And if they, oh, we'll go get some food over at a food truck or we're gonna have a bunch of vendors there. We'll go check that out. There's gonna be an outdoor art gallery, walk around for a minute, see some more music and engage with the other artists and experience that.
[00:07:28] Speaker C: And has that expanded from last year? Like the Food trucks and the vendors.
[00:07:32] Speaker A: Definitely.
[00:07:33] Speaker C: Is that something that you. Whereas you want to.
The time and the amount of artists condensed, I think. Does it make more sense to keep growing, you know, growing the vendor?
[00:07:44] Speaker D: Right. Yeah, yeah. To add to that, I think something that we made a point of this year is having everything kind of start at the same time. So when you get there at 2 o' clock this year, everything will be there. The food, the vendor, everything will be there for you to enjoy. Because last year we'd start at 12, but we had the vendors and things come a little later and we started with some smaller acoustic acts. So it worked in its own right because we didn't expect it to have everyone there that early. So we kind of set it up that way.
[00:08:14] Speaker C: But if we're starting a little, people trickle in, right.
[00:08:17] Speaker D: If we're starting a little later, we're kind of looking for more of a hard start kind of thing and allowing, you know, everything to be available.
[00:08:23] Speaker C: And you know, with that, you know, people can have lunch on their, you know, do their morning, get their things done, like have lunch and then show up. And I mean, then you could stay for the whole thing, right? And you know, grab a couple snacks throughout the day or whatever. But it wouldn't be like our. We're stuck here.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: I remember like again, the time we did it last year, we were at the park from like 5am to midnight. I think it was a long day just for us. I can't even like going to see music.
I was getting like, all right, just going through the let's, let's, you know. But I think condensing it a little bit, you know, quantity or quality over quantity, you know, we don't need everybody there all day. We just want you there for eight hours or seven hours. Yeah, a lot of good stuff.
[00:09:14] Speaker C: And that's not a ton to ask, you know, it's like right in the middle of the day because even with the ending at nine, you know, you can still weather permit, have an evening thing, right?
[00:09:24] Speaker D: Yeah, well, I think, you know, last year in its own right was. Was good because the more artists you have, you know, that that just goes with the goal. More you're getting more exposure to these people, giving an opportunity.
So it was definitely not like an easy decision to make it just a short in it and have less acts. But I think in the long run, you know, in the direction we're trying to go, it's, it's. It just makes more sense. More.
[00:09:48] Speaker C: And do you think logistically, you know, I mean, Obviously when you're putting together, you know, like you said, you're want to like pack in as much as you can. But do you think logistically, have you noticed a difference this year with, with having less acts? Has that made it.
Has that taken enough off your plate to make it easier to put some focus in other aspects of the festival?
[00:10:09] Speaker D: Definitely, yeah. And I think. Oh yeah, I was gonna say real quick. The, like the last two years we've spent sort of acquiring equipment, things like, of that nature, you know, just general planning, things you pick up. So going into this year already there were less things we had to I guess worry about in general. So having having, you know, I guess less outreach and communication with, with more performers does give us a little more.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: Time to focus on having that kind of that blade already sharpened over the past two years of like, we know the process.
[00:10:41] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:10:41] Speaker A: Now we can start doing other cool shit like fine tuning. Yeah. And finding other things to like. So I just mentioned ALN who do the transformation project with the NOPIA committee, who we're working with for this.
So I was talking to them about how we can get them at the event, how we can get them involved. And they had just finished a project they called the I love you kiosk. I'm gonna butcher this. But it's like. Yeah, it's like an obelisk that's covered in like stained glass, like little mosaics that were handmade by members of the community, members of like school district.
And they were all put on this like 8 foot.
Obelisk is a great word for it. And Louie's reclining in his chair right now.
[00:11:24] Speaker C: He just discovered.
[00:11:25] Speaker D: I didn't know it did that.
[00:11:26] Speaker C: The couch is an electric recliner. Yours does it too, by the way.
[00:11:30] Speaker A: I'm so dazzled.
[00:11:31] Speaker D: I'm dazzled.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: We're in the den.
Yeah.
[00:11:34] Speaker C: The look on your face.
[00:11:37] Speaker A: We're reclined. Now it's a den, giant obelisk. And in the middle there is a screen with a bunch of people, videos playing of people saying I love you. And it's this crazy like multimedia art thing that was made by a bunch of people and they want to display it at the event. And it's like, totally. Why wouldn't you? Like, the more the merrier.
Here, here. It's a, this is a call to anybody with weird shit they want to display within reason. You know, it's a community event, it's family friendly. But you know, if, if that's your, your M.O. reach out, we would love to have you. We we love all things eccentric and eclectic.
[00:12:23] Speaker D: Creative.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:12:24] Speaker D: Artistic. Yeah. That's another thing, too. I was gonna say we with the vendors this year with the help of our friends at CZR Entertainment. I'm not sure if you're familiar. Yeah, absolutely, Zeke.
And they helped us get in touch with and extend our outreach to a lot of cool vendors and people that are reaching out. So we're excited to have some new people from more, I guess, the capital region.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, the greater capital region.
[00:12:52] Speaker D: Right.
Just displaying their work. It's just the more of the merrier kind of thing. Yeah, yeah.
[00:12:57] Speaker A: Yes. Helped us out a lot.
[00:12:58] Speaker D: To the best.
[00:12:59] Speaker A: They're the best.
[00:13:00] Speaker C: And what is the. What is the date? I don't think we've said the date yet.
[00:13:03] Speaker D: Saturday, July 26th.
[00:13:06] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:13:06] Speaker D: Two to nine at Butler park in April Park, New York.
[00:13:09] Speaker C: So that'll be. Because we'll air this. This week. So it'll be next Saturday as this next Saturday.
[00:13:16] Speaker D: That's crazy.
[00:13:16] Speaker C: It's crazy.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: It is crazy to think it's a.
[00:13:19] Speaker D: Lot earlier this year, too.
[00:13:20] Speaker A: Yeah. We used to do it in August.
[00:13:22] Speaker D: Last year it was August 17th, I believe so.
[00:13:25] Speaker C: And is that another of those things where, you know, you did it and you're like, it might make a little more sense to do it earlier. So, like.
[00:13:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Because, you know, like, a lot of people, especially around our age, are going to school.
[00:13:36] Speaker C: Right.
[00:13:37] Speaker D: Late August is when they're vacation time.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
And apparently, like, this could be just like hair brain conspiracy. But, like, we're like, oh, dude, August. It always rains in August. We can't do it in August.
[00:13:49] Speaker D: It is. We have been battling rain.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: Like, that is our. That is our biggest opposition.
[00:13:55] Speaker D: Year one. Like, we were setting everything up, and it's an outdoor pavilion. It's, you know, covered. But if it's. It's windy, you're going to get.
[00:14:02] Speaker A: Rain is rain.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: Rain is rain. Right. And. And so it was the morning we're setting up, and all of a sudden it just starts downpouring the whole thing. And we're like, somehow it. Somehow everything was okay. We shorted this. The. The.
The circuit at the.
[00:14:17] Speaker A: We shorted the circuit and they didn't unlock the power box on the stage. And so I had to, like, we had to get a hold of.
I think it was just like the janitor for the park.
[00:14:28] Speaker D: Yeah. It was a lot. But then somehow the skies opened up.
[00:14:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, I just remember, like, running across the, like, landing, like the field of the park with like a. Just a broom that I found in, like, the bus.
[00:14:38] Speaker D: Didn't we have to use the tennis squeegees?
[00:14:40] Speaker A: Yeah, we used a tennis squeegee and a broom to just try to keep all the electric stuff.
[00:14:45] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: So hopefully that doesn't happen. If that doesn't happen, we'll see you there. July 26th. Yeah. If it does rain dates the next day. Yeah.
[00:14:53] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Got it.
[00:14:54] Speaker A: And I let Louis say the date because I have been notorious the past couple months. We did an event at the Sand Lake center for the Arts as a way to kind of raise a little bit of money for the art center. We split the door for the art center and for this event actually, so that we could have a little bit more money to work with because, you know, we just kind of do this all out of pocket, and it's a free event.
[00:15:19] Speaker D: There's not a lot of fundraiser for the fundraiser.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: It's a fundraiser for a fundraiser, which was kind of like, you know, hard to explain people, but there was also just live music. So come.
Anyway. That was June 27th, and the AP Live is July 26th.
[00:15:36] Speaker D: Anytime, 27, 726.
[00:15:38] Speaker A: So we kind of screwed ourselves there.
And anytime I would tell anybody about it or I'd send an email, it was like, immediately I get a phone call from him. He's like, you sent him the wrong date.
You said 7:27, not 7:26.
[00:15:52] Speaker C: I'm like, yeah, that's tough.
So I do want to talk about who's playing in the lineup, but I think first, let's. Let's break it up, and we'll play a song from someone who is going to be opening up the show. She has been in this room. She's performed live in the dazzle den for unsigned 518. She's actually, and I hope I'm being correct. I think I am. She was not only the first female guest of unsigned 518ever way back in the beginning, but she was also the first live performance.
She's no G Dazzle then. So Sabrina is certainly an og.
[00:16:34] Speaker A: Did she know about the recliner?
[00:16:35] Speaker C: You know, the couch didn't exist when she was. She is that og.
[00:16:39] Speaker A: She's pre couch.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: And she's so OG in the Dazzle Den that the name, the Dazzle Den did not exist when she was here. So, yeah, I mean, Sabrina was on, I think, like, because I'm on episode fucking.
You guys would be like, maybe 180.
And Sabrina was on, like, maybe episode 11 or 12.
[00:16:58] Speaker D: Like, that's nuts.
[00:16:59] Speaker C: She's, like, very early On. She was. She was here, so. Yeah. But anyway, Sabrina Trueheart is gonna be kicking off the show and we were gonna play a Sabrina Trueheart song now and then we'll come back and talk about the. The lineup. How does that sound?
[00:17:13] Speaker A: I like it.
[00:17:14] Speaker C: So what do we want to play?
[00:17:16] Speaker A: Soft.
[00:17:16] Speaker D: Yeah, soft. Let's take a listen to soft by Sabrina trueheart.
[00:17:19] Speaker C: All right, cool. Let's listen to soft Sabrina Trueheart and then we'll be right back.
[00:17:29] Speaker B: I grew up alone Even though there was always I stand on solid ground but my feet sink deeper down when you open your mouth I don't know if it's my mom or the way my daddy treated me All I know is I found myself lost and I don't know if it's my face that turned into wasted his All I know is that I am so so All I know is that I am so Please don't get too close to me don't look me the end Please don't give me false promise It'll hurt too much when I let all of it is love and I don't know if it's my dreams the burdens of my family All I know is I found myself lost I don't know if it's just me or the coldness of the city All I know is that I'm so, so All I know is that I'm so I don't wanna fall in love with my mistake again because it is unbearable, my friend and I don't wanna purposely push good things away But I do and I just cannot explain yeah I don't know if it's my age Getting older has its ways All I know is I found myself lost I don't know if it's my best or that no good feeling best All I know is that I am so, so, so All I know is that I'm so, so All I know is.
[00:20:58] Speaker C: That I am so all right, that was soft Sabrina true heart and I I looked it up while we were listening to the song. Sabrina was on episode 13 of Unsigned 518, which is, like I said, very, very early in the thing. And first female artist and first live performance. So you don't get more og than that. So Sabrina's kicking off the show and that's right at noon, you said. Or was it 2 o'?
[00:21:26] Speaker D: Clock? 2 o'.
[00:21:26] Speaker C: Clock, 2 o'.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: Clock.
[00:21:27] Speaker C: Sabrina. And then who else do we have planned?
[00:21:30] Speaker D: So after Sabrina, we have Stu playing band out of Troy and they're sort of rock kind of thing.
Mix the Covers in a few originals. So that'll be a 240 and then we'll have Delaney from the Bell Curves doing a solo set on the B stage at 3:30.
And then our friends, Little Slicer. Yeah, they're kind of based I suppose in Ithaca and Jersey as well.
[00:22:05] Speaker A: Well they're. They're like Frontman's from Jersey.
[00:22:07] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:22:08] Speaker A: Wallace.
[00:22:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:22:09] Speaker A: But we know them from Ithaca.
Zach Ryan, who is.
Helps us organize all of this. He runs the sound day of. He plots out the stage. He's a huge hand on all this zombie.
He.
He's good friends with them. He plays with them and they actually reach out to us to play and they are like. They have a good following and they're also like really talented musicians. I remember seeing Wallace at a house show in Ithaca. He was playing for like four hours at like 2 o' clock in the morning and I was like holy. Maybe it's like.
[00:22:43] Speaker D: It's like Elliot Smith, like Wilco.
But also another thing. It's really, really good. Like they're very talented.
[00:22:51] Speaker A: The secret third thing.
[00:22:52] Speaker D: Secret. The third other thing.
[00:22:53] Speaker A: And if you will, they're fantastic, amazing performers and great guys. And then what's after that.
[00:22:59] Speaker D: So after that we'll have set spy our bands passing grade in 1001.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:05] Speaker D: Which is cool. Cuz I just like the idea that like AP Live is a collaboration.
[00:23:13] Speaker A: It's our baby. It's kind of our baby.
[00:23:15] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: We grew up together. We were in played music together and now we've been building this together and it's like I hope you know in a couple years we don't play I think. But for now it's like it's nice to enjoy it together in that way because you know, we're musicians before, we're event coordinators and we love putting this together and we love playing at it.
[00:23:40] Speaker D: Right.
And then after that we have another set on the B stage, 640 which is lost Mary's.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: Are they playing as a three, three.
[00:23:54] Speaker D: Piece or a. I think it's a four piece. It's sort of like an acoustic.
[00:23:58] Speaker A: They. They do like 60s 70s. Well they played last year and did like 60s 70s acoustic soft rock kind of stuff.
[00:24:05] Speaker D: Really fantastic.
And then after that Levada on stage at 7:30, which we'll talk about in a minute.
And then after Leeda we always come back up at the end and do a couple songs just with everybody who was at the festival. Sort of a. We call it All Star Jam. Final Jam.
[00:24:26] Speaker A: Yeah, we do like an open invitation to for everybody to come up and. And play.
[00:24:30] Speaker C: Is that something that you plan the songs?
[00:24:32] Speaker D: Yeah, we pick a couple songs and then we send them out. And if you want to come on and play, you can play literally whatever you want. Like, last year, we did the Weight and Angel from Montgomery, but my favorite was definitely Soul Sacrifice.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, my God. So. And we have a. So last year, we recorded all of the.
The. The entire day through our mixer, and it. We printed it onto a cd, a couple of songs. Have one in my hand, and there is a cover of Soul Sacrifice on there.
Don't tell Santana.
[00:25:09] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:25:09] Speaker A: That we're selling.
[00:25:10] Speaker C: He'd be cool with it. It'd be fine.
[00:25:11] Speaker A: Hopefully never met the guy, but. Yeah, it's. Yeah, it's. It's really. We're really proud of that.
[00:25:17] Speaker D: Yeah. So just, like, that idea that. I don't know, just everyone coming together at the end is kind of all.
[00:25:23] Speaker A: About, like, last year, I remember. I think it was during angel from Montgomery, or the. Wait, you might remember his name. Betula, the front man, he came up and he brought his flute.
[00:25:33] Speaker D: He sacrificed. He was playing flute. Yeah.
[00:25:36] Speaker A: He didn't, like, play flute during his.
[00:25:38] Speaker D: Set, but he had a flute with him. So he got up from New Paltz, and it was like, this is what it's all about, right? Yeah.
[00:25:46] Speaker C: And these. You know, the CD that I have here. Nice job on the CDs, by the way.
Is this something that you're gonna sell at this year's?
[00:25:54] Speaker D: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:25:55] Speaker C: And then record this year's fest and.
[00:25:57] Speaker D: Yeah, you'll hear it.
[00:25:58] Speaker A: Hey, that might be in the cards for us.
[00:26:00] Speaker D: Who knows?
[00:26:01] Speaker A: Who knows?
[00:26:02] Speaker D: Most likely.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Yes. Yes.
[00:26:03] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:26:04] Speaker A: To answer your question, yes, we're trying.
[00:26:05] Speaker C: To be cool, but, yes, that's a cool idea. It's a great idea.
[00:26:08] Speaker A: You know, it's. It's fun, I mean, to, like, relive it a little bit and hold it in your hand.
Yeah.
[00:26:14] Speaker C: It's tangible.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: There's. There's nothing better than owning physical media, you know?
[00:26:19] Speaker C: I agree. And, you know, it'd be cool, too, like, for anybody listening who's going to the next one, like, you know, buy a CD and then see who you can get to sign it. You know what I mean?
[00:26:29] Speaker D: Right.
[00:26:29] Speaker A: Sure, I think. Yeah. A couple. A couple of the bands that played last year are playing again.
[00:26:33] Speaker D: Yeah. Right. Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:34] Speaker C: Get some. Get some signatures on the seat. That'd be cool.
[00:26:37] Speaker D: Yeah.
But, yeah, we're definitely.
Again, shorter lineup, but still, definitely quality. And. And we're excited to share.
Yeah, I'm Looking forward to it.
[00:26:53] Speaker A: Do we want to hear some. Some of the. Because we're really excited to have them.
[00:26:58] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: I. I think probably the. The biggest band we've worked with for.
[00:27:06] Speaker D: AP Live, for sure. Yeah.
[00:27:10] Speaker A: So we're really excited that they are coming to do it.
[00:27:13] Speaker D: Yeah. And.
And. And, you know, half the band is from down in the city, but the other half is kind of in every other band in upstate New York.
[00:27:25] Speaker A: You know, Dan.
[00:27:26] Speaker D: Dan and Joe.
[00:27:28] Speaker C: Joe is everybody's drummer. Yeah.
[00:27:30] Speaker D: Right.
[00:27:30] Speaker A: I think, actually, speaking of czr, I think they recommended.
[00:27:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:27:34] Speaker C: It's a great get, you know, like, it's a. There's a name around here, like. Yeah, it's a. It. They're a great band. And they're. They're a band that I think will help with the draw, you know.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: Yeah. And I think we also, you know, we want to have a good balance of making it a local thing, but also we want people to see it and be like, oh, I know Veda. I'll go see that. Yeah, exactly like you're saying.
[00:27:56] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:27:56] Speaker C: And I mean. And you could even like at, you know, as the. The festival progresses, you know, there's. There's certainly nothing wrong, even in a local festival to have a regional headliner, you know?
[00:28:06] Speaker D: Right.
[00:28:07] Speaker C: To get a bigger band.
[00:28:08] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:28:08] Speaker C: To headline.
[00:28:09] Speaker A: We.
So we, again, we get in our own heads and like a little echo. Echo chamber of like, oh, dude, we're gonna do this and this. It's gonna be fucking awesome. And like, we're like year six. We're gonna have Sturgill Simpson headlining. We're gonna have. Billy Strings is gonna be.
[00:28:25] Speaker C: They're gonna be, you know, set it as. It set it as a goal, man.
[00:28:28] Speaker A: Billy, would you do it for.
What would it take?
[00:28:31] Speaker D: If you check their DMS, there's definitely like a 1:00am message. Just. Hey, Marcus. Hey, Marcus King.
If you're free July 26th, just pull up.
[00:28:40] Speaker A: Just.
[00:28:41] Speaker D: But the best thing about, I think AP Live is it's free entry.
[00:28:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:45] Speaker C: It's great exposure.
[00:28:47] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: Marcus King, please.
[00:28:50] Speaker C: I'll make you a star.
[00:28:53] Speaker D: Could.
[00:28:53] Speaker A: We could give you everything, Marcus, if you just play ball.
Come to the fest.
[00:28:58] Speaker D: I'd be sorry not to.
[00:28:59] Speaker C: So let's hear a Levada song. Which one did you bring for us?
[00:29:02] Speaker A: What do you think? Better Now.
[00:29:03] Speaker D: Yeah, let's do that.
[00:29:05] Speaker C: All right, cool. Let's check out Better Now LA. They're the headliners of AP Live Fest. And what's the date again?
[00:29:12] Speaker D: Saturday, July 26th. Butler Park.
[00:29:15] Speaker A: April Park, New York again, I, I.
[00:29:18] Speaker C: I Shut my ass. Yeah, we'll let. We'll let Lou say the date.
[00:29:21] Speaker D: We'll do the date. Yeah.
[00:29:23] Speaker C: All right, cool. We'll be. We'll be right back to wrap it.
[00:29:25] Speaker D: Up.
[00:29:56] Speaker C: Had to leave those broken t.
[00:29:59] Speaker D: Things were far from right look at better now.
[00:30:07] Speaker C: Remember that day it all.
[00:30:09] Speaker D: Turned gray now there's never going back Sometimes I can't breathe Never, never know.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: She was 17 when she looked at it Find me me.
[00:31:14] Speaker C: Better now she.
[00:31:19] Speaker D: Was 17 when she looked at me.
[00:31:56] Speaker A: Sam.
[00:32:29] Speaker C: All right, that was better. Now Laida and Wolfgang and Louie, I want to thank you so much for coming out and doing this. It was really cool to talk to you, and I. I hope you come back every year for, you know, we'll see you for AP Live Fest part four, but before you, Part four, like. Well, we were talking movies, so.
[00:32:46] Speaker A: That makes sense.
[00:32:47] Speaker C: That makes sense.
[00:32:48] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:32:49] Speaker C: Yeah. Cause I'm gonna go see Superman right after this.
[00:32:51] Speaker D: Yeah, we're right behind you.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: That's kind of the vibe we're going for for AP Live.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: Positivity.
[00:32:58] Speaker D: Positivity of hope. I don't know. Yeah.
[00:33:02] Speaker C: And. And a super dog. Like, that's the. I'm more excited to see Crypto than I am.
[00:33:06] Speaker A: If you like James Gunn movies, come AP Live.
[00:33:09] Speaker D: Yeah. Thank you for having us. And. Yeah, it's always such a pleasure.
[00:33:12] Speaker C: Totally. But, you know, before we go, I'm gonna. I'll give you each, like, a chance to say your gratitudes or thank yous or shout outs or, you know, mention whoever you want to and make sure everybody gets their. Their dues. So I don't know who wants to start, but we can go for it.
[00:33:26] Speaker A: It. I mean, there's a. We got a long list. I mean, of course, you know, big thank you to Nopiates, right?
[00:33:32] Speaker D: Tim.
[00:33:32] Speaker A: Tim and Kim Murdick, all the bands that are coming out to play this.
[00:33:38] Speaker D: Sand Lake center for the Arts for all that help.
[00:33:40] Speaker A: Yeah, like, a lot of the people that we've been able to connect with have been through them because they're established, you know, organization in our community. So, like, a lot of vendors who have worked with them, we may be able to get in contact with them through that also.
[00:33:58] Speaker D: Just thank you to our boys who are in here. You know, Zach, who does all of our sound. Nick, who does a lot of, like, the logistical, physical construction stuff, like drum risers, things of that nature, stage setup.
And Henry, who does a lot of.
[00:34:17] Speaker A: Great work, a lot of the social media.
[00:34:18] Speaker D: Social media, yeah.
[00:34:21] Speaker A: It's. It's growing. It's. It's nice to.
It's nice to have a long list of people to thank, you know?
[00:34:26] Speaker D: Right, right.
[00:34:27] Speaker A: I mean, of course. Thank you to you.
Thank you to Metroland.
[00:34:32] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:34:33] Speaker A: Got us in contact with Natalie St. Dennis.
[00:34:35] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:34:36] Speaker A: And she wrote an article, little preview, and it was in the July issue. That's like, so cool for us to see, like, not only just seeing Metroland back and, like, thriving and like, seeing it everywhere, but also being in it because, like, growing up, I remember seeing it on.
[00:34:51] Speaker D: It's the cool newspaper.
[00:34:53] Speaker A: It's a cool newspaper. It's a pretty.
[00:34:54] Speaker C: I mean, same like I remember, you know, that was my bible, like, how I knew what was going on sort of to be a part of it coming back is fucking cool.
[00:35:03] Speaker A: It's so cool.
And like, we're in the. We're in the crossword.
