[00:13:43] Speaker B: Week.
[00:13:44] Speaker C: Guys, what is going on with our band show?
[00:13:46] Speaker E: Thank you very much BJ and welcome in to our band show. Patrick W. Huber here, producer and director for an amazing team of recording artists aimed to film musicians in the Hudson Valley area and beyond.
Let us start off this week with a big congratulations to a whole nother on their successful self titled album release.
This past weekend I went out to the album release show at Keegan Ales in Kingston, New York and had an amazing time seeing James, Andy and the rest of the band perform their entire album. I did go ahead and sneak a couple clips on my phone to capture the energy of the evening.
[00:14:42] Speaker B: Your.
[00:15:30] Speaker E: By no means is my iPhone gonna capture the amazing sound quality of the mixing and mastering of a whole nothers album that you can find now on any streaming service of your choice.
Definitely you want to check this out. I also want to take a moment to shout out that excited fan in the front row for pumping up the energy for the entire set. It is one of the main reasons that it is fantastic to get out and check out your local music scene. The energy is just amazing from music supporters in the Kingston area and probably just like you in the 5 100, you all bring this amazing support and love to the table. I even ran into a past performer on the band show, singer songwriter Dan Pitt. And of course I also want to mention the show's opener, another fantastic job by Bird week for having a great opening set. So let's turn now to the releases that we filmed from the O Posita Music Festival last year.
We're going to keep them coming and I'm really excited to present the set from Big Girl Girl, a high energy indie rock and glitter punk band based in Brooklyn, New York.
They are known for their theatrical live shows that blend the punk aggression with choreographed dancing and campy, rocky hor esque aesthetics. The band is led by singer songwriter Caitlin Pelke, whose background in music therapy and music theater heavily influences the group's cathartic and dramatic style.
At this show, they were not afraid to use the platform of their music to say what was on their mind. One song stood out, calling the audience to stop being so studdy and quit their job. Lines like I love making minimum wage, if you die they would replace you and more paint the sarcastic depiction of modern society made even more provocative if you consider some of the political talking points currently in the public spirit.
This spotlight is not about showcasing any political belief necessarily, but the act of intelligently making a point through art. This is why this week I want to spotlight Big Girls Quit your job. Recorded live at the 2025 O Positive Festival.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: Now this one is for everyone who wants to quit their job.
DJ I could use a little more guitar in my monitor.
I want to believe it's there there it is.
Quit your job do it now Cause it's nice outside and I've got a town for us to sit on at the walk down the street a tall boy with your name on it.
Quit your job, quit. Go on tour with me we'll sing in the car and watch that TV outside the city Reaching out the window for something that they talk about on smile down Great go.
Oh everyone should do it sometime Even if the weather's not nice Get a job just quick fly, fly for a fly out on all your lines it's so calm, so compl.
Quit your job already being so steady for some rich diaries three houses
[00:19:40] Speaker A: Quit
[00:19:41] Speaker B: your job already and be super petty Tell them that I told you to.
God told me to.
Quit it, quit it, quit it.
And you interview when they're asking you what are all your faults you say I just work too hard I worked out to go to the bathroom so you can imagine Imagine how complicated it can be when your is your passion how you feel like a times I'm happy to fail so listen I would really like to work here.
Please give me a job so I can work here. Oh everybody got to know I love work so much like oh have we been on holiday? I'm never sick and I'm not done I'm all waking.
Minimum wage, minimum wage, minimum, minimum wage minimum wage.
I know make it minimum wage. I don't make it minimum wage I won't make it minimum wage.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: Get your your.
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Stop being so if you die they would replace you.
Quit your job on Sunday Quit your jaw on Sunday and tell them God told you to.
